Our vision is to preserve ecological health by providing a comfortable space for people to relax, learn, and play in a nature-based setting. Spending time in nature deepens our sense of connection to the ecosystems we inhabit, and leaves us more inclined to preserve these ecosystems.
We are located on the beautiful shoreline of Vargas Island, just a 15 minute boat ride from Tofino, British Columbia. With a fine balance of remoteness, accessibility and comfort, our off-grid retreat centre is ideally situated for nature-based field trips, retreats, workshops, weddings and private gatherings.
We offer comfortable tent-cabin accommodations and a variety of fun and relaxing activities to make the most of your stay at Cedar Coast.
Throughout the Spring and Fall seasons we deliver place-based ecology programs for k-12 and university school groups.
Our off-grid, boat access facility includes comfortable wall tent accommodations, a large dining hall, living room, library, classroom, gymnasium, field lab, shower house, hand-crafted barrel sauna and cold water plunge pool.
Cedar Coast is lucky to have a passionate team who is dedicated to preserving and sharing this place. Being stewards of our home, we wish to deliver the best possible immersive nature experiences for all of our guests.
We acknowledge and honour the traditional territories of the Ahousaht, Hesquiaht, and ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ (Tla-o-qui-aht) First Nations. In the spirit of truth, healing and reconciliation, Cedar Coast Art and Ecology invites all visitors to join us as respectful guests in this unceded Nuu-chah-nulth Ha’huulthii.
